I needed a bag that could carry all my medical equipment but also had room for reasonable amounts of sustainment gear. Even when I am running a chest rig with five full magazines, I never feel like the RATS is getting in the way, or that its overly cumbersome. Streamlined but still allows for flexibility. The layout is spacious yet concise. All my essential medical and sustainment gear (to include a camelbak bladder) can fit neatly and comfortably inside the RATS. I knew Mystery Ranch created some of the best products on the market, but I was still questioning the price tag is it worth half of a grand? Three months and countless miles of use later I can answer that question. I looked at many types of bags but I was finally turned onto the RATS by my friend in recon.
